THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS.
Our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible partners and sponsors who play a pivotal role in making the work of the Aurora Black Community not only possible but impactful. Your unwavering support enables us to host barrier-free events and programs, ensuring accessibility for all residents in our community.
A special thank you goes to our main sponsors, the Town of Aurora and TD Bank, for their ongoing and generous support. Your commitment has been instrumental in work we do.
It's crucial to acknowledge the disparities highlighted in a report by Fahad Ahmad, Nonprofit Consultant, and PhD Candidate in Public Policy at Carleton University. The report underscores the underfunding of Black-serving and Black-led community organizations by both public and private foundations. Shockingly, only six of the 40 foundations reviewed funded Black-serving organizations over the 2017 and 2018 fiscal years, with just two foundations supporting Black-led organizations in the same timeframe.
In light of these challenges, we are immensely grateful to our sponsors, partners, and donors. Your support not only sustains our current efforts but inspires us to build a stronger support system in Aurora. Together, we can create positive change and foster a more inclusive community.
Once again, thank you for your dedication and belief in the Aurora Black Community. Your contributions are instrumental in shaping a brighter future for us all.
